3. Liepāja Travelling Puppet Theatre "Maska"

Liepāja Travelling Puppet Theatre "Maska" is one of the oldest professional non-governmental puppet theatres in Latvia (founded in 1994). The theatre is performing in the style of realistic naïve art.

There are many big, small, funny animals, birds, well-known and brand-new fairy-tale characters. Pinocchio and Atomino, Cippolino, Red Little Riding hood and other good friends live in the theatre.

The theatre's mission is to seek, find and reach out to its little audience, to speak to them in a language they can understand, allowing everyone to learn something new in a world of sounds, colours, puppets and fairy tales. Performances are staged in all regions, towns and municipalities of Latvia.

Performances have been successfully presented at International festivals and in guest appearances in Pakistan (Lahore), Denmark, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, France, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg). For several years, at the invitation of the Moscow State Philharmonic, guest performances have been given from Moscow to Baikal (Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Tara, Omsk, the Latvian village of Bobrovka, Tulun, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and other cities).
