The 397th birthday of the city of Liepāja will be celebrated over several days. To celebrate the occasion for not only the Liepāja residents but also the guests of the city, from 17-20 March the Liepāja City Council welcomes you to enjoy the second "Illuminated Liepāja" Walk.
For four evenings, Liepāja residents and city guests will be offered the opportunity to see Liepāja turned into lights and to walk along a varied and fascinating route of illuminated objects.

The objects will be on show every day of the event from 19.00 to 23.00.
City businesses and residents are also encouraged to get involved in lighting up the city by creating a light object on the facades, windows and doors of their buildings and properties.
The numerous light installations will be created by light and video artists from Liepāja and all over Latvia. During the walk, building facades will be illuminated using both high-power light beams, lasers and video projections.
For the first time this year, the City Council building will also be illuminated, on which the Liepāja light artist Mārtiņš Feldmanis will tell the Liepāja story. A colourful installation "Flowers of Light" will blossom in Jānis Čakste Square, while a poetry walk "Joy Lit by Light Bulbs" will invite to listen to the poetry of Ziemeļnieks, Austra Skujiņa, Biruta Skujeniece, Eriks Ādamsons and Aleksandrs Čaks. During the walk, Liepāja Holy Trinity Cathedral will be illuminated, many will discover the charming courtyard of the new cultural centre "Wiktorija", as well as other places and buildings in Liepāja's urban environment.
As part of the walk, the building of the Customs House at 54 Vecā Ostmala Street will also host an urban video projection graphics competition "(un)rest" to celebrate Liepāja's run-up to the second round of the European Capital of Culture 2027 competition.
