4. Karosta Prison Museum
This is no ordinary museum or an ordinary prison. This is a former military detention centre that has hardly changed since the time of the Tsars. Here you will learn how the detainees lived, what it was like to be a prisoner in the guardhouse cell and see evidence from different eras and regimes in the museum's exhibitions.
Tourists can also experience the reality show "Behind Bars" and the game "The Escape Room", while those with a more edgy guts can spend the night in a prison cell.
The Karosta Prison houses the Karosta Visitor Centre, where you can get comprehensive information about Karosta and Liepāja, buy souvenirs, book guided tours of Karosta and Liepāja, rent bicycles, watch the short film "Karosta", take photos in military costumes from different periods and have a meal at the Soviet-style canteen.
